Build a small machine. Unleash a chain reaction.

HEATFORGE is a modular building and auto-defense game. Fit weapons and support modules onto a compact platform, connect their effects, then watch your fortress fight.

Gunfire feeds heat coils. Coils power arc emitters. Build a chain-lightning defense and protect your reactor through eight escalating waves.

In this free playtest

  • Eight waves, ending with a boss that speeds up at half health.
  • Eight module types, gradually unlocked as you learn.
  • Upgrade weapons, slow attackers, repair your core, or invest in extra scrap.
  • Move and recycle between waves with a full refund. After defeat, restore the wave’s pre-combat state and rebuild before retrying.
  • English by default, with a Chinese language option.

How to play

Drag a module onto an empty tile, or select it and then select a tile. Guns, coils and arc emitters connect through their four sides; diagonals do not connect. Select a placed module to inspect, move, upgrade or recycle it. Press START WAVE when ready. Combat is automatic.

Mouse and touch controls are supported. Portrait is recommended on phones. Launch in fullscreen for the best view. Use the sound and volume controls for music and effects.

This is an early public playtest (v0.2.15). Use Feedback & privacy in the game, or leave a comment here. Tell us what happened in your last attempt, what confused you, and what you changed when trying another build. Bug reports and honest criticism are welcome.

Progress is saved locally when browser storage is available. Written feedback goes privately to our shared game feedback service and works even when analytics is off. Optional gameplay analytics is off until you allow it: waves, builds, retries, device category, generic error codes and active time, with random game-only IDs. No full save or recording is uploaded. Raw events are kept for 30 days and daily totals for 180 days; written feedback is kept for developer review. You can turn sharing off in Feedback & privacy to stop future uploads and clear unsent events and local analytics IDs. Already received data follows its retention schedule. Hosting providers may process connection logs. Feedback service & privacy details.
